Scholarships available to Circles Campaign participants

Boulder County, Colo. – The Boulder County Circles Campaign is proud to announce that it has started a scholarship program for its Circle Leaders.

The Circles Campaign, a local collaboration of government and nonprofit agencies, faith communities and business partners, is working to end poverty in Boulder County one family at time. Circle Leaders are designated heads of families who are motivated and committed to working themselves out of poverty and into a life of sustained self-sufficiency.

The campaign links leaders with at least two community volunteers called “allies” who provide guidance and support to help leaders develop skills and access resources needed to work on their long range plans to move toward economic stability. Since its inception in 2010 the Circles Campaign has worked with nearly 30 families and more than 50 allies.

The journey out of poverty is not an easy one and Circle Leaders face many challenges, a major one being the cost of higher education. Recently, InDevR co-founders Laura Kuck, John Birks and Kathy Rowlen sponsored educational fellowships at Front Range Community College that will give preference to Circle Leaders. Two scholarships for $2,000 each (provided by InDevR and a match by the FRCC Foundation) will be available this fall and Circle Leaders are encouraged to apply.

The Circles Campaign is excited to offer this resource to Circle Leaders and hopes to grow the number of scholarships offered at FRCC.
