NA Activity Testing Services
There are very few ways to determine the concentration of influenza neuraminidase in a sample. MUNANA (20-(4-methylumbelliferyl)-a-D-N-acetylneuraminic acid) can provide a relative measurement of neuraminidase enzymatic activity.
There is a growing understanding of the effect neuraminidase content has on the efficacy of flu vaccines. The MUNANA assay measures the rate of activity of the neuraminidase enzyme by cleaving a sialic acid containing compound into a fluorescent product. By measuring the rate of fluorescence accumulation, the activity of the sample can be calculated.
InDevR scientists are trained and experienced in performing the MUNANA Assay. This assay can either act as a calibration for the VaxArray Influenza Neuraminidase Potency Assay or can be performed for stand alone NA activity determination. VaxArray influenza Neuraminidase Potency Assays have been shown to correlate well with results from MUNANA assays.
Contact us and InDevR scientists will help to plan and will carry out analysis of your unique samples.
