State helps local company InDevR go global; continues commitment to innovation

DENVER — Wed., April 25, 2012 — The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) today announced that Boulder-based InDevR, Inc. has been chosen as a recipient of state funds to aid in the exporting of their product globally. The funds will be administered through the Next Step and CO-Exist programs.

InDevR, Inc. is a biotechnology company focused on the development, manufacturing and commercialization of innovative technologies for the detection of micro-organisms such as viruses and bacteria. The company applied for the funds to help them access emerging foreign markets, build distributor networks, and capture the international market opportunity for its products.

The Next Step Program helps Colorado companies overcome challenges to exporting their goods and services to prospective buyers abroad. Matching funds are provided directly to companies to engage in client development activities such as business-to-business matchmaking services, interpretation and translation of business-specific documents, and travel to and from the target country.

The CO-EXist Program promotes Colorado cleantech exports to China and Mexico. Colorado companies can apply to receive assistance in tradeshows and incoming buyer visits, as well as to participate in the client development program for Mexico and China.

“Colorado is proud to offer programs that support local businesses with international expansion efforts such as InDevR’s,” said Ken Lund, Executive Director of OEDIT. “We recognize the connection between innovation and jobs, and InDevR’s global market strategy and commitment to innovation positions them to realize sales goals and continue to foster economic vitality in Colorado.”

“I am proud that all InDevR products are manufactured on-site in Boulder and that we are able to source components from many other dedicated Colorado companies,” said Kathy Rowlen, CEO of InDevR. “‘Made in Colorado’ translates into more jobs in Colorado. I am also enormously grateful for the foresight shown by OEDIT in providing a critical financial catalyst that will help us export our products to customers around the globe.”
